How can I find if the library has a book I want?
- The library is arranged according to the Dewey Decimal System. Charts posted in the library give you clues.
- Cards for each book are filed in the Card Catalog by title, author’s last name, and subject. The drawers are labeled in front.
- Books are shelved in Dewey Decimal number order, then alphabetically by author. When you locate the card for the book you want, note the Dewey number on the upper left-hand corner of the card and then go to the shelves and look in numerical order for the book with the same identification on its spine.
- NOTE: Books are also kept on a cart in the Education Building lobby. Check there if you do not find your choice in the library.
When I find the book I want, how do I check it out?
- Write (or print) your name, telephone number and current date on the card found in the pocket in the back of the book. Place the completed card in the file box on the sign-out table.
- Books are due two weeks after they are signed out: however, if a book is being used for a class, the time can be extended. Please note this on the card.
- A reminder card will be mailed when a book is overdue for one month. If the book cannot be located please call the Church Library on Monday morning to report the loss and discuss replacement.
Does the Church Library have audio visuals?
