When do we meet?

Every Sunday: Youth Fellowship

Sunday evenings are really about the kids coming to hangout before another week of school, or after a long weekend. They can decompress, play games, eat dinner with their friends, and sometimes take home a craft if it’s ‘cool’ enough. We strongly encourage the youth to invite friends and enjoy this time of fellowship.

1st Sunday of the month

Youth Lunch after worship, we encourage the youth to attend church, bring friends, and eat lunch with us somewhere in Kerrville. We’re usually back to the church by 1pm.

3rd Sunday of the month:

Taco Time at Rita’s @9:30am. We encourage those that want to attend Sunday School come to our version of it. We read scripture and learn about our faith together, but we also end up unpacking some interesting topics that come out of simple questions.

5th Sunday of the month:

Youth are ushers & greeters for the 11am service. We hangout before worship, greet and hand out bulletins to the members of the church on Sunday morning, and help with other worship related responsibilities. It allows the youth to be more involved with the members of the church in a familiar setting.

Main Event at John Knox Ranch

September 23-25 – Seven youth, Keaton, Harper, Jacob, Jadice, Parker, Timothy and June, along with John and Emily joined youth groups from across Mission Presbytery at John Knox Ranch for Main Event! They spent the weekend wrestling with the theme “Brick by Brick: Rebuilding God’s World.” What does it look like to support each other and our community? Rev. Kathy Lee-Cornell, the Director of Partnership for Disaster Response for the Synod of the Sun, spent time telling us about her role and how Presbyterian Disaster Assistance meets the needs of communities after a disaster.

They played, swam, energized, ate, laughed, and worshiped together. Rev. Laurie Palmer, the Stated Clerk of Mission Presbytery, joined our gathering to oversee communion during Sunday morning worship. Keaton Mitchell was one of three youth serving communion. Faithful youth leaders, John and Emily are so thankful to have been able to participate in this weekend and would like to extend deep gratitude to FPC for always supporting youth programming and their participation in the Church.

In addition to our weekly meetings, we have special events, trips, and mission projects.

This summer, our Senior High Youth attended Montreat.

All students 6th-12th grade are welcome! If you are new in town or looking for a church home, we hope that you and your students will check out what’s happening here at FPC and join us!

Vacation Bible School – Food Truck Party: On a Roll with God

July 5-8, 5:30-8:00pm

Pre-K -Rising 6th

Food Truck Party VBS invites children to pray as Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6:11: “Give us this day our daily bread.” These words serve as a reminder that everything we have comes from God. Through fun activities grounded in stories from both the Old and New Testaments, VBS will open kids’ eyes to the countless ways God provides, loves and cares for us, while inviting the kids to join God in providing, loving and caring for others.
