The Neal Garden Courtyard

First Presbyterian Church - Kerrville, Texas

To honor Earl Neal, his wife, Nancy, chose to provide a courtyard dedicated to her husband. At Nancy Neal’s request, a committee was formed in the fall of 1988 to oversee the planning and planting of the courtyard. The committee, consisting of Ted McCullough, Irene Thompson, and Karen Fair, interviewed several companies and chose the design presented by Golden Eagle.

Ramsey Gunter, chairman of the Property Committee at the time, worked with the committee to open the walls of Ryan Hall, adding two windows for light and view and a door accessible to the courtyard from Ryan Hall. The Neal family (Byren and Mark) continue to support the Neal Garden Courtyard providing for upkeep and maintenance. This year the fountain was newly remodeled and creates a tranquil quality to the garden as the water flows quietly. The Neal Courtyard is always open and provides a perfect environment for quiet meditation and prayer.
